What Is Designed Clinical Nutrition?

Designed: a specially designed nutrition plan, which is specifically based on your needs.

Clinical: the plan is developed based on the results achieved in clinical use on many patients over several years.

Nutrition: consists of real food, as designed by nature, to aid the body in repairing itself and becoming healthier.

After conducting a comprehensive wellness analysis, Total Health Restoration will provide you with a specifically designed nutrition program, established from the information your body provides. Most programs are comprised of dietary suggestions and whole food supplements to aid your body in the process of healing itself. The whole food supplements used are concentrated and have been made using a unique process that preserves all active enzymes and vital components.  Most over-the-counter supplements are full of additives and foreign substances your body cannot process.  The supplements we recommend have been working since 1929.  They are tended with great care from farm to bottle, inspected at least 5 times to ensure purity and integrity, most are organic, and when they cannot be, they are inspected and any foreign contaminants are eliminated.  Furthermore, no genetically modified food is used.  Your body recognizes these supplements as food.*  How do we know?  Because during the process of healing with us, Dr. Forman will repeatedly test to make sure your body is responding properly and initiating organ repair.

How do I know the right supplement for me?

After identifying the main reason for your individual symptoms, Dr. Forman will select the precise whole food supplements, along with the quantity required by your body to resolve its underlying health problems. We strive to have you take as few supplements as possible, while still allowing for your body to be restored and address your symptoms at the same time.*

What are “whole foods”?

A “Whole food” is defined as “food that has undergone very little processing and has been grown or produced without the use of synthetic pesticides or fertilizers”.

A good example is carrots. Carrots are rich in vitamin A complex. A “complex” is something made up of different parts which work together. Synthetic vitamins do not contain the whole complex (as found in Nature). If testing indicated a vitamin A deficiency, we would look for a whole food high in vitamin A complex (and carrots would be a likely source). A supplement rich in this complex would then be included in your program. We pride ourselves on only using the highest quality whole food supplements available.

The concentrated form of the supplements we use provides complete nutrition to your body. By restoring the nutrition on which your body was naturally founded, you can enable your body to heal itself…just as Nature intended.  Due to the targeted process in which these supplements are selected, they are only available through a licensed physician.

Factors that lead to deficiencies:

Deficiencies may be caused by illness, but illness is not the only factor leading to the problems you may be experiencing. A key factor may be the food that you eat every day.  While it may appear, or start out to be healthy, it is then subjected to a variety of preservation and cooking methods that compromise its value for your body, including:

  • Microwaving
  • Genetic engineering
  • Food coloring
  • Synthetic additives
  • Flash Freezing
  • Preservatives
  • Hormones and antibiotics (found in meat, chicken, etc.)
  • Produce grown in soil that has been robbed of its nutrients
  • Harmful chemicals and metals (such as PCB’s and mercury in some fish)

When these factors are a part of the growing, cooking or processing of the food, the resulting “food” has insufficient nutritional value, and it may also contain toxins which may deteriorate your body and your health.

On the other hand, whole foods are not altered or contaminated. They contain genuine nutritional value without any modification.

It is sad but true that current food conditions make it difficult for our body to absorb all of the nutritional components required to heal and/or maintain resiliency.  And even if you could eat a mostly whole food diet, our agricultural system has depleted the minerals in soil to the point where the nutrients available to us are significantly diminished.

How long will it take for me to start feeling healthy again?

Each case is different. However, for the majority of patients who strictly follow their programs, positive results are noticed in the first 4 to 6 weeks, and often sooner. In other words, your health improvement is directly proportional to the adherence to your program.*

Do I have to stay on a Designed Clinical Nutrition regimen forever?

During the course of the program some additional layers might show up. For instance, if you have a long term health problem, your body may not want to address this first and may suppress the indication of being out of balance, since that has become its norm.  As we heal progressive layers, we may find others to address as the body stabilizes and is able to recognize a true normal. Your body will dictate its priority each time you are tested during a follow up visit.  As this happens, we adjust your program and focus on better health.*
